The refinement and persistence of a rosé wine from Baux-de-Provence

The estate

With origins dating back more than two thousand years, the Château Romanin has successively been a major spiritual site for the Greeks, the Gauls, and later the Christians. Located at the gateway to Baux-de-Provence, it has belonged since 2006 to the Charmolüe family, former owners of Château Montrose, Second Grand Cru Classé of Saint-Estèphe.

The vineyard

This Château Romanin is a Baux-de-Provence wine, produced from a 58-hectare vineyard planted on limestone soils with sandy-stony to sandy-silty-clay textures, on the northern slope of the Alpilles massif. Managed using biodynamic practices, this vineyard produces cuvées that are vinified and aged in an underground cellar, covered with vegetated soil, in order to preserve a natural harmony between vineyard work and cellar practices.

Winemaking and aging

After manual harvesting, the bunches are cooled in a cold room (50°F) for 24 hours. After settling, alcoholic fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks, as does the aging on fine lees of this wine from Provence for approximately 5 months, with regular bâtonnage.

Blend

Château Romanin 2025 is made from a blend of Grenache, Mourvèdre, Counoise, Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon.
