Domaine de Chevalier 2012

There's serious depth to the shortbread, lemon curd, creamed yellow apple and melon notes, all inlaid with mouthwatering savory and thyme flavors. The long, powerful finish has plenty of buried mouth-watering acidity. This should age well. Best from 2015 through 2020.

From this vintage onwards, the wines were sealed with Diam instead of natural cork. The colour is green-gold, and the nose is quite closed even at six years old, with touches of straw and stone fruits that are strikingly fresh, revealing a power that slowly but surely builds across the palate.

Vibrant, refreshing and lively, the citrus, honeysuckle, lemon peel, green apple and crushed stone qualities are just starting to go on full display. Loads of energy are found in every sniff and sip. And this is only just starting to enter its journey. Based on previous vintages, this should age for decades.

Lemony vibrancy, a brisk, very citrus-driven body, and a fairly deep finish. Still very young but promising.

The aromas of Domaine de Chevalier’s white wine are superb and highly complex. The wine is very elegant, fresh, structured, with good length and lovely body. A great success that will stand the test of decades.

Pale color with green highlights. Fine, fruity, ripe, subtle, and floral nose. Lovely, subtle, and fragrant entry on the palate with a delicate touch. The wine then unfolds with a magical combination of texture and flavor, built on a rising, sappy structure. Long, vanilla-tinged, delicious finish with a return of well-ripened lemon notes. It’s good and well-crafted.

93–95. Barrel sample. Complex, rounded and full bodied, this wine is still reticent at the moment, hiding its rich fruit. As it develops, this will be impressive, with its mineral texture over apricot fruits and layers of spice and wood.
