Domaine des Sénéchaux : Châteauneuf-du-Pape 2017

The 2017 Chateauneuf du Pape Blanc is a clean, refreshing example of the appellation's whites. A blend of 36% Roussanne, 30% Clairette, 25% Grenache Blanc and 9% Bourboulenc, partially aged in barrel, it's full-bodied and plump but delivers lime and tangerine flavors, supported by a silky mouthfeel and a long, mouthwatering finish.

Light yellow-gold. Fresh orange, pear and succulent floral qualities on the energetic nose, along with deeper candied ginger and honey flourishes. Silky and focused in the mouth, offering incisive, refreshing citrus and orchard fruit flavors and a touch of smoky minerality. The mineral note carries strongly through a long, penetrating finish that shows excellent clarity and closing bite.

I’ve always loved the white from this estate, and the 2017 Châteauneuf-du-Pape Blanc doesn’t disappoint. Based on 36% Roussanne, 30% Clairette, 25% Grenache Blanc and the balance Bourboulenc, this medium-bodied, fresh, vibrant white excels on its purity and elegance and offers classic notes of white peach, pineapple cream, and white flowers.

Tart yellow apple, pineapple and white-peach flavors are fresh and pure in this full-bodied but vibrant white. Juicy and thirst quenching, it finishes on a pleasantly mineral tone. Enjoy now–2024.
