Description
The indulgence and precision of a Côtes du Rhône white wine
The estate
Domaine E. Guigal was founded in 1946 by Etienne Guigal in Ampuis. His son, Marcel, took over in 1961. Today, the third generation carries on the heritage and values of this emblematic family-run house in the Rhône Valley.
Côte-Rôtie, Condrieu, Hermitage, Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Saint-Joseph, Crozes-Hermitage: the E. Guigal estate cultivates a mosaic of vineyards across numerous appellations, producing a range of Rhône Valley wines of impeccable quality.
Over the vintages, Maison E. Guigal has grown significantly, notably becoming in 1995 the owner of the famous Château d’Ampuis, as well as several wine estates (Jean-Louis Grippat, Domaine de Vallouit, Domaine de Bonserine, and Château de Nalys in Châteauneuf-du-Pape).
The vineyard
This white wine from the Rhône Valley by E. Guigal comes from vines around 25 years old, grown on varied terroirs composed of sediments and limestone of granitic origin.
Winemaking and aging
Traditional vinification with temperature-controlled alcoholic fermentation around 64.4°F. This Côtes du Rhône Blanc is aged in stainless steel tanks.
Blend
This 2024 Côtes du Rhône Blanc from E. Guigal is a blend of Viognier, Roussanne, Marsanne, Clairette, Bourboulenc and Grenache Blanc.
