Characteristics and tasting notes of the Puligny-Montrachet Village 2024

Tasting notes

Colour
The colour of this white wine reveals great clarity, offering a beautiful crystalline brilliance.

Nose
Delicate, the bouquet unveils subtle notes of white flowers and fine herbs reminiscent of vetiver, harmoniously underscored by a discreet oaky touch evoking liquorice.

Palate
Full-bodied and generous, the palate of this Puligny-Montrachet Village Jean Chartron 2024 is perfectly balanced thanks to a beautiful mineral tension, offering immediate tasting pleasure.

Food and wine pairing

This white wine pairs wonderfully with noble fish such as turbot or sea bass, shellfish like lobster, as well as white meats and poultry served with a creamy sauce with mushrooms.

Service and storage

To fully appreciate the profile of this Puligny-Montrachet Village Jean Chartron 2024, it is recommended to serve it at a temperature between 16 and 18°C. Although it offers immediate pleasure in its youth, it also possesses the necessary structure to age favourably for a few years in the cellar.

The elegance and purity of a great white Burgundy

The estate

Founded in 1859 by cooper Jean-Édouard Dupard, Domaine Jean Chartron stands as an essential historic figure in Burgundy. Located on the prestigious Côte de Beaune, the estate spans 14.5 hectares and stands out for owning several monopole clos. Today, the estate is managed by Jean-Michel Chartron, supported by his sister Anne-Laure. Together, the current owners carry on a demanding family expertise, championing sustainable viticulture to reveal the full finesse of their great terroirs.

The vineyard

The vines behind this cuvée flourish within the communal appellation of Puligny-Montrachet. This exceptional terroir rests on limestone soils dotted with fossil-rich marl. Committed to preserving the vitality of the land, the estate cultivates its plots according to uncertified organic principles, excluding synthetic products in favour of mechanical soil work.

The vintage

The weather conditions of 2024 in Burgundy unfolded against a climatic backdrop marked by the challenges of global warming. This year required particular attention in the vineyards to preserve the aromatic freshness of the grapes and ensure finely honed balances during ripening.

Winemaking and aging

The making of this Puligny-Montrachet Village Jean Chartron 2024 is guided by a clear philosophy: a measured use of oak so as not to mask the identity of the terroir. The wine benefits from careful aging on fine lees in oak barrels, lending volume and complexity, before finishing its refinement in tank.
