Lacoste-Borie 2024

Lifted strawberry fragrance, wild berries, aromatic and open. A touch floral and liquorice. High toned, really bright and upfront - a little severe at first with some clear menthol bitterness that gives this a bit of a severe taste. Taut and streamlined, nice freshness but this is missing a little more plushness. Tannins are lean and this is a bit mean right now. Structure is there though, and acidity is biting. Fresh but on the verge of being too strict. Ageing 30% new wood.

62% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, 8% Cabernet Franc. Cask sample. Fresh fruit nose. Sapid on the palate. Integrated tannins. Approachable but should age a bit. (JL)

Bright, peppery, vibrant, with red fruits and floral notes at the core of the wine’s character. On the medium-bodied palate, you find crisp, juicy red currants, peppery herbs, and a hint of pomegranate from start to finish. The wine blends 62% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, and 8% Cabernet Franc. Drink from 2027-2036. 88-90 pts

Score: 88–90. An appealing nose of red and purple fruits, rich and expressive. On the palate, brilliant freshness, well-defined tension, and crunchy fruit make for a delicious, versatile whole.
