The estate
Founded in 1797 by Jean Latour in Aloxe-Corton, Maison Louis Latour remains a Burgundian family business passed down through eleven generations. Owning extensive vineyards, including a large area classified as Grand Cru, it is the largest owner of Grand Cru parcels in Bourgogne. Visionary, the house was a pioneer in introducing Chardonnay to Corton-Charlemagne after the phylloxera crisis. The house combines the excellence of its estate with its négociant activity developed since 1867.
The vineyard
The Clos du Roi climat extends to the north of the Beaune appellation. The vines, averaging 30 years of age, enjoy a south/southeast exposure on clay-limestone soils.
Winemaking and aging
Beaune Premier Cru "Clos du Roi" 2023 is vinified in the traditional way in open vats, with full malolactic fermentation. Aging takes place for 10 to 12 months in medium-toasted French oak barrels, 35% of which are new, produced by the Tonnellerie Louis Latour.
Grape variety
This red wine from Bourgogne is made from 100% Pinot Noir.
