Description
An iconic, generous and silky smooth Ermitage red wine
An iconic Ermitage, the Ermitage Le Pavillon Rouge is one of the most emblematic wines of the M. Chapoutier estate.
This great red Hermitage is produced from very old Syrah vines, 90 to 100 years old, planted on the magnificent terroirs of the Northern Rhône Valley. These vines produce very low yields of fruit with an exceptional concentration.
The Ermitage Le Pavillon Rouge 2004 from Maison M. Chapoutier comes from a plot of vines spread over an area of 4 hectares. A unique geology of soils, composed of sediments upon a granite subsoil, gives this parcel its unique identity.
At the tasting, the Ermitage Le Pavillon Rouge 2004 by M. Chapoutier presents an intense red colour, shimmering with violet hues. The nose opens with notes of compote and musk, evolving balsamic notes and light touches of rancio. Aromas of dried fruits (prune, fig and raisins) appear next. From the onset, the palate is seduced by a deliciously velvety texture. Round and fleshy, the palate displays a great structure with silky tannins. The length of the finish stretches for, revealing a suite of flavours. A magnificent red Hermitage by M. Chapoutier to be enjoy now.
