The Estate

Founded in 1877 in the heart of Beaune, the house of Remoissenet Père et Fils is a historic figure of Burgundy, France. Acquired in 2005 by a consortium led by Edward and Howard Milstein, with the participation of Maison Louis Jadot and Todd Halpern, the estate has undergone a true renaissance. Today, the estate cultivates around thirty hectares biodynamically and stands out for its minimal-intervention philosophy. Home to spectacular cellars, this institution produces top-tier cuvées, prized by collectors for their purity.

The Vineyard

The terroir from which this Savigny-Les-Beaune originates is located mid-slope, in the northern part of the appellation. Facing due south, this small plot of about 0.56 hectares benefits from optimal sunlight. The vines thrive on complex soils composed of limestone pebbles, scree and clay, giving the grapes ideal ripeness while preserving a fine mineral definition.

The Vintage

The year 2022 offered very favourable weather conditions. The rains in June were particularly beneficial, allowing the vines to withstand the summer heat and drought. This climate favoured optimal ripening of the berries, resulting in a healthy, concentrated harvest with a lovely balance between fruit richness and freshness.

Winemaking and Aging

The grapes for this Savigny-Les-Beaune 1er Cru "Les Guettes" 2022 are harvested by hand, followed by an extremely rigorous sorting process. Fermentation takes place in open wooden vats with indigenous yeasts, incorporating a proportion of whole clusters. Regular punching-down accompanies the process. Aging then takes place in the estate's historic cellars, in French oak barrels, of which about 50% are new, allowing the wine to refine while preserving the authentic expression of its terroir.
