An expressive, generous Australian cabernet sauvignon
The estate
Established in 1999 by Michael Twelftree and Richard Mintz in the Barossa Valley, Two Hands has become a benchmark for Australian shiraz. Under the current leadership of Michael Twelftree and Pierre-Henri Morel, the estate farms several strategically located vineyards in Southern Australia, including the prestigious Holy Grail Vineyard. Two Hands’ philosophy is based on rigorous parcel-by-parcel vinification, with no inter-regional blending, allowing the authenticity of each terroir to shine through. Certified Sustainability Australia, the estate has been recognized for ten consecutive years in the Wine Spectator Top 100.
The vineyard
Sexy Beast is made from grapes sourced from the McLaren Vale region, a terroir renowned for its expressive, generous cabernet sauvignons.
The vintage
The 2023 vintage in Southern Australia proved particularly demanding for winegrowers. A wet winter was followed by days marked by high humidity. The season recorded heat and sunshine levels below the usual averages, resulting in a slower ripening curve for the grapes.
Winemaking and aging
The Sexy Beast Cabernet Sauvignon 2023 is crafted using traditional methods. The grapes are crushed and then fermented in open-top vats. During active fermentation, three pump-overs are carried out daily. After pressing, the wine is transferred to barrels for maturation in oak casks.
Grape variety
This Australian red wine is 100% cabernet sauvignon.
