William Fèvre : Chablis 1er cru "Montée de Tonnerre" Domaine 2021

Fevre's Montée de Tonnerre comes from all three sectors. Seguier notes that Pied d'Aloup has the highest marl content, Montée de Tonnerre adds weight, and the old Chapelot vines (planted in 1936) add finesse. More closed on the nose. Weighty, concentrated, persistent. Saline notes. Will be a great gourmand wine. Some white-flower notes, lots of zesty orange and grapefruit on the palate with a nice touch of white peach. For long aging.

The 2021 Chablis Montée de Tonnerre 1er Cru has a succinct bouquet with low-key minerality that emerges with aeration. Very fresh with a light sea-spray element. The palate is well balanced with crisp acidity in a more elegant style, composed with brightness and sapidity on the finish. Excellent. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting.

A very elegant, clean nose with no deviation (not even slight). A streamlined palate with saline nuances right from the start, great purity, and a razor-sharp finish—just the way we like it.
