Description
Characteristics and tasting notes of the Chambolle-Musigny Village 2022 by Bouchard Père & Fils
Tasting
Appearance
The wine reveals a bright ruby colour of medium intensity.
Nose
Expressive, the bouquet unfolds aromas of small red fruits such as strawberry, raspberry and redcurrant, underlined by a very subtle woody touch.
Palate
Tender and delicate, the palate charms with its fine structure, free from any excessive robustness. The silky texture stretches harmoniously towards an elegant finish.
Food and wine pairings
This red wine pairs perfectly with delicate meats, such as a rack of lamb, lamb chops or a leg of lamb.
Serving and cellaring
For optimal enjoyment, it is recommended to serve this wine at a temperature between 17 and 18°C. Endowed with fine ageing potential, it can be enjoyed now or kept in the cellar until around 2032.

The estate
Founded in 1731 by Michel Bouchard, the Bouchard Père & Fils House is a true institution in Burgundy, France. Historically established at the Château de Beaune since 1820, the estate has patiently built a mosaic of terroirs. Acquired in 2022 by Artémis Domaines, François Pinault's holding company, and led by Frédéric Engerer, the House is now refocusing on its estate of around 60 hectares in the Côte de Beaune. A pioneer of sustainable viticulture in the region, the estate obtained organic certification for the entirety of its vineyard in 2025, thereby perpetuating its heritage with an unwavering commitment to quality.
The vineyard
The grapes behind this cuvée come from the Chambolle-Musigny appellation, located in the Côte de Nuits. This terroir, whose total surface area in production is close to 93 hectares, is distinguished by its shallow clay-limestone soils. This limited depth forces the vine to draw its resources deep within the fissures of the bedrock, thus promoting excellent water regulation and remarkable aromatic complexity. For this vintage, the fruit comes both from the estate's own parcels and from purchase agreements with carefully guided partner winegrowers.
The vintage
This year's climatic conditions enabled the berries to reach a beautiful level of ripeness, giving the grapes precise aromatic expression and optimal balance.
Winemaking and ageing
After a manual harvest, the berries undergo total or partial destemming. Fermentation takes place in small vessels to allow precise temperature control. Maceration lasts between 8 and 15 days, followed by a gentle pressing to preserve the delicacy of the tannins. Finally, the wine is aged for 8 to 14 months in French oak barrels, including a proportion of 20 to 40% new wood.
Grape variety
100% Pinot Noir.
