De Sousa : Blanc de Noirs Grand Cru Extra Brut

Medium yellow-colored, the NV Champagne Blanc De Noirs Edition Limitée is not labeled vintage, but it’s entirely from 2019. Aged in oak barrels from Ambonnay vineyards, this is the first time De Sousa has made a brut nature. Made from 100% Pinot Noir, its dark fruit character is complemented by red and black fruit notes, and the wine has a floral perfume reminiscent of purple flowers and orange pith citrus. It’s medium to full-bodied on the palate, with a hint of toasty, savory broth and a lingering savory finish. It’s a vinous wine with a peppery mousse and spice. Drink 2025-2040.
