Description
Characteristics and Tasting Notes for the "Amour de Deutz" 2015 Deutz
Tasting
Color
The color reveals a pure, crystalline white-gold hue, illuminated by delicate golden highlights. The effervescence displays great finesse, with smooth bubbles evoking the precision of a diamond.
Nose
The bouquet opens with great floral delicacy, combining scents of hawthorn, orange blossom, and acacia. As it airs, more sun-drenched notes of yellow fruit and candied citrus emerge, harmoniously rounded out by subtle touches of honey, brioche, and a light toasty hint.
Palate
The palate opens with a precise, finely chiseled attack, carried by a vibrant tension that highlights the freshness of the vintage. A very pure fruit expression unfolds, pairing yellow peach with citrus such as mandarin and blood orange, enhanced by delicate hints of passion fruit and mango. The palate lingers with elegance, offering a texture that is both generous and fleshy, before finishing on a long, balanced, and delicately saline note.
Food and Wine Pairing
Ideal as an aperitif, this champagne pairs beautifully with delicate dishes such as sushi, sashimi, caviar, or beef or tuna carpaccio. It also brilliantly complements gourmet dishes such as lobster, white fish in a light sauce, or refined crab preparations.

The Estate
Founded in 1838 in Aÿ by William Deutz and Pierre-Hubert Geldermann, the Deutz house quickly established itself as a benchmark in Champagne. Now part of the Roederer Collection and led by Marc Hoellinger since 2023, the estate cultivates excellence through a style combining finesse and vinosity. With 45 hectares of its own vineyards and rigorous sourcing, the house continues to build on its heritage while looking to the future, notably under the guidance of its cellar master Caroline Latrive.
The Vineyard
The grapes used in this cuvée come from some of the finest terroirs in the Champagne region, with a large proportion of vineyards classified as Grand Cru and Premier Cru. The house is committed to an environmentally responsible approach, initiating a transition to organic viticulture on its land in Aÿ. Halting the use of herbicides encourages deep root growth in the vines, allowing them to draw the nutrients needed to produce berries of remarkable aromatic intensity.
The Vintage
The year 2015 was marked by contrasting yet ideal weather conditions. After a particularly rainy winter, spring brought exceptional sunshine and warm temperatures, encouraging early vine growth. The scorching summer allowed the berries to reach remarkable concentration. Timely, saving rains in August then brought perfect balance before the harvest took place under radiant sunshine, yielding grapes in impeccable health.
Winemaking and Aging
The making of the "Amour de Deutz" 2015 relies on a meticulous process designed to preserve the brilliance of the fruit. Only first-press juices are used. Each cru is vinified separately in stainless steel tanks at low temperature to maintain optimal aromatic purity. The house favors complete malolactic fermentation and excludes any use of oak barrels. The final blend is the result of more than twenty rigorous trials, followed by an extended aging period on the lees to develop the full complexity of the cuvée.
Grape Variety
This wine is made exclusively from Chardonnay (100%). The blend showcases prestigious terroirs such as Avize (46%), Oger (15%), Vertus and Villeneuve-Renneville (13%), Le Mesnil-sur-Oger (8%), Chouilly (6%), and Villers-Marmery (5%).
