Joseph Perrier : Joséphine 2014

Leesy character dominates here, with a rather stern profile, though there’s candied lemon, fresh green apple, redcurrant and subtle, biscuity depth. Fine bubbles, apple flavor and a tight and powerful structure. Yet, it’s finely extracted and tuned with crisp, refreshing acidity. 60% chardonnay and 40% pinot noir. Disgorged in 2022. Dosage 5g/L. Best after 6 months.

A lovely nose of white fruit and flowers, almost herbal, then opening onto surprisingly more stony aromas. Growing energy on the palate, thanks to acidity that builds progressively.

Named after the daughter of Joseph Perrier, this Champagne is mature, so the dryness has softened. It is rich with white fruits as well as a fine balance between fruit and structure. Drink the wine now.
