Description
A full-bodied yet precise Blanc de Blancs Champagne, the signature of Maison Thiénot
The estate
Founded in Reims in 1985 by Alain Thiénot, the Champagne House Thiénot has established itself as a family-owned, independent benchmark in Champagne. The estate draws on some 30 hectares of vineyards, spread across Grands Crus and Premiers Crus between the Vallée d'Aÿ, the Côte des Blancs and the slopes south of Épernay. Now led by Stanislas and Garance Thiénot, children of the founder, the House perpetuates a style that combines precision and generosity, underpinned by a deep, long-standing knowledge of the Champagne terroir.
The vineyard
The Chardonnay that makes up this cuvée comes from Maison Thiénot's Grand Cru parcels, mainly located on the Côte des Blancs, an emblematic terroir of Champagne. The chalky soils of this sector lend the grapes tension, purity and minerality, qualities that are particularly sought after in the production of Blanc de Blancs. This base may be complemented by grapes from other villages classified as Grand Cru and Premier Cru, selected for their quality.
Vinification and ageing
The vinification of the Stanislas Blanc de Blancs 2011 follows the technical tradition of Maison Thiénot, which favours temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks in order to preserve the freshness and aromatic purity of the Chardonnay. This approach, combined with a rigorous selection of Grand Cru parcels, yields precise wines designed to fully reveal the expression of the Champagne terroir.
Grape variety
This Stanislas Blanc de Blancs 2011 Thiénot is 100% Chardonnay.
