White flowers and candied citrus peels on the nose. Full-bodied, fresh and generous, with good supporting acidity – really quite vibrant acids, which makes for a well-balanced style.

30% Grenache Blanc, 20% Clairette, 15% Marsanne, 15% Roussanne, 15% Viognier, 3% Picpoul, 2% Bourboulenc. 90% aged in stainless-steel tanks, 10% in barriques. Certified organic (AB Agriculture Biologique). Tasted blind. A golden-apple note on the nose – wet hay and chamomile. Attractive fruit and moderate acidity. Really lovely energy and it feels a little introverted and tight at the moment but will open up nicely. (AC)

The 2024 Lirac Blanc La Reine des Bois is more tensile than usual, wafting from the glass with aromas of spring blossoms, white lilac, almonds and honeysuckle. Medium- to full-bodied, satiny and layered, it's racy and saline, with an enveloping core of fruit and a long, chalky finish. Crafted from vines planted on galets roulés and calcareous soils, this is a blend of undisclosed proportions of Grenache Blanc, Viognier and Clairette with a touch of Marsanne and Roussanne.
