Description
Characteristics and tasting tips for the Tableau de Terroir "Les Lauzes" Grenache Noir 2025 from Domaine de la Mordorée
Tasting
Nose
The bouquet stands out for its generosity, revealing indulgent aromas of red and black fruit, with notes of cherry and blackcurrant intertwining in particular.
Palate
On the palate, this wine combines indulgence and elegance. The fleshy, intensely fruity body is beautifully supported by fine tannins, offering a delicate texture and a precision that reflects its terroir.
Food and wine pairing
This Grenache pairs wonderfully with Mediterranean cuisine. It is an ideal match for grilled or roasted meats such as lamb, pork or beef with herbs, as well as full-flavoured poultry such as duck. It will also enhance slow-cooked vegetable dishes such as ratatouille, or pressed cheeses such as Comté, Cantal or Beaufort.
Serving and cellaring
To fully appreciate this wine, serve it at a temperature of 15-17°C. Brief decanting in its youth will allow the wine to open up and further soften its tannic structure.
Other characteristics
Part of the limited-edition "Tableaux de Terroir" range, this cuvée embodies a unique dialogue between the art of painting and the art of winemaking. Each bottle pays tribute to the Rhône terroir and to the family's history, showcased through artworks created by Ambre Delorme's grandfather.
A red Vin de France combining elegance and precision
The estate
Founded in 1986 by Francis and Christophe Delorme, Domaine de la Mordorée quickly established itself as a leading benchmark of the Southern Rhône Valley. Based in Tavel, the estate spans a mosaic of 38 plots across 8 villages, encompassing prestigious appellations. Today, Madeleine and Ambre Delorme are at the helm of the estate, passionately carrying on the family vision. They remain strongly committed to biodiversity and environmental stewardship, as reflected in numerous ecological certifications, while producing wines of great precision.
The vineyard
Classified as Vin de France, this cuvée comes from a specific selection of plots on soils of limestone lauzes. This distinctive terroir gives the grapes lovely tension and great finesse. The vineyard is managed to the highest environmental standards and holds both organic and biodynamic certifications. The vines benefit from natural grass cover that promotes soil biodiversity, and are carefully pruned to control yields and ensure optimal grape health.
Winemaking and ageing
Production begins with exclusively manual harvesting, followed by rigorous sorting to retain only perfectly ripe, healthy berries. Fermentation takes place naturally with indigenous yeasts, allowing the full authenticity of the limestone terroir to shine through.
Grape variety
This cuvée is made exclusively from Grenache Noir (100%).
