Description
Tasting characteristics and advice for the Temps est Venu 2025 from Domaine Stéphane Ogier
Tasting
Appearance
The wine displays a pale yellow hue with golden highlights.
Nose
The nose reveals an expressive aromatic bouquet dominated by citrus notes, notably mandarin, accompanied by floral nuances of acacia and white flowers. Aromas of white-fleshed fruits, white peach, and subtle mineral touches complete this olfactory palette.
Palate
The attack on the palate is lively and taut, offering lovely freshness. The mid-palate unfolds with gourmandise, revealing a silky, ample texture. The finish, with impressive length, expresses a saline minerality characteristic of the terroir.
Food and wine pairings
This dry white wine is an ideal match for herb-roasted poultry with Herbes de Provence, delicate fish cooked en papillote, seafood, and oysters. It also pairs beautifully with aged goat cheeses and composed salads.
Serving and cellaring
Temps est Venu 2025 is best enjoyed at a serving temperature between 8 and 10°C. This wine can be enjoyed now and through around 2030.
A dry white wine from Côtes du Rhône combining freshness and generosity
The estate
The Domaine Stéphane Ogier, based in Ampuis in the Rhône Valley, represents the seventh generation of winemakers in the Ogier family. Officially founded in 1983 by Michel Ogier, the estate took off in 1997 when Stéphane Ogier, trained at the Beaune wine school, joined the family business. Now owner and winemaker, Stéphane Ogier oversees a vineyard of around 18 hectares spread across Côte-Rôtie, Condrieu, Saint-Joseph and Côtes du Rhône. In 2014, the estate equipped itself with an ultra-modern 1,700 m² winery. Internationally recognized, it has been awarded two stars in the Guide des Meilleurs Vins de France by La Revue du Vin de France and four stars from Bettane & Desseauve. Stéphane Ogier also chairs the Vitis Vienna association, working to promote recognition of the vineyards of Vienne and Seyssuel.
The vineyard
The grapes for Le Temps est Venu Blanc come from parcels located in the Visan and Violès areas, in the southern Côtes du Rhône, between Châteauneuf-du-Pape and Gigondas. The vineyard stretches across the Plan de Dieu and Visan plateaus, at around 320 meters above sea level, with a south to south-west exposure. The soils are composed of white clays and sandy formations of alluvial and limestone origin. The vines, averaging around twenty years of age, are farmed according to sustainable viticulture principles and harvested by hand.
The vintage
The 2025 vintage benefited from favorable climatic conditions typical of the southern Vallée du Rhône, enabling optimal ripening of the white grapes and the expression of their aromatic freshness.
Winemaking and aging
After hand harvesting, Temps est Venu 2025 is vinified in temperature-controlled concrete vats using indigenous yeasts. The wine is then aged for six months in concrete vats on fine lees, allowing aromatic complexity and texture to develop while preserving the fruit’s freshness.
Grape varieties
Grenache Blanc (60%), Roussanne (20%), Viognier, Clairette, Marsanne and Bourboulenc (20%).
