Perrier-Jouët : Belle Epoque 2007

The 2007 Brut Belle Époque is maturing gracefully on cork, mingling aromas of nougat and freshly baked bread with hints of lemon curd, white flowers and fresh peach. Medium to full-bodied, fine-boned and pillowy, it's an elegant, charming wine with a refined pinpoint mousse and a nicely defined finish.

The smoky overtone of this elegant Champagne is richly aromatic, wafting through flavors of toasted brioche, glazed apricot and lemon meringue pie. Fine and creamy, with a well-knit, lightly spiced finish. Drink now through 2026. 10,000 cases imported.

Dense and zesty, very confident build and a good combination of fruit, autolysis and freshness. Good balance and a wine that is ready to savour. My only reproach is that it doesn’t really linger on the palate. (JR)

Medium yellow gold, silver shimmers, fine persistent mousse. A subtle hint of almond croquant, delicate floral nuances underpinned by tropical fruit, notes of pineapple and papaya as well as a dash of citrus zest. Elegant on the palate, white fruit nuances, crisp acidity followed by peach and blossom honey tones on the finish, vibrant style.

In its generous, refined style, it is impeccably constructed. It is at its peak today.

The cuvée is evolving nobly, retaining its beautiful complexity and gently saline finish. Racy and deep, it has excellent aging potential ahead.
