Description
Characteristics and tasting notes of Chambertin Grand Cru "Cuvée Héritiers Latour" 2010
Tasting
Appearance
This wine reveals a magnificent red colour with a beautiful depth.
Nose
The aromatic bouquet opens on indulgent notes of cherry intertwined with hints of liquorice.
Palate
The attack is imbued with great freshness. The palate proves supple and elegant, supported by well-defined tannins. Cherry aromas reappear, accompanied by peppery nuances that extend into a long-lasting finish, also marked by pepper.
Food and wine pairings
This cuvée will pair beautifully with game meats, such as a venison stew or sautéed doe with pepper served with a celery purée. As for cheeses, a Soumaintrain will make an excellent partner.
Serving and cellaring
To fully appreciate this wine, it is recommended to serve it at a temperature between 16 and 17°C. Endowed with great potential, this wine can be enjoyed until around 2025.
The elegance of a great Burgundy Pinot Noir
The estate
Officially founded in 1797, the Louis Latour House is a true institution in Burgundy. This historic estate spans 48 hectares of vines, including an exceptional 27 hectares classified as Grand Cru, stretching from the Côte de Nuits to the Côte de Beaune. Today led by Florent Latour, Chairman of the Management Board, the estate carries on a unique family-held expertise, including the ownership of its own cooperage. Certified organic since 2024, this prestigious brand shines worldwide while jealously preserving its heritage and exceptional terroirs.
The vineyard
The plot dedicated to this Chambertin Grand Cru extends over 0.81 hectare in a single block, running from the top to the bottom of the slope. Acquired at the end of the 19th century, these Pinot Noir vines have an average age of 35 years. They thrive on a complex terroir composed of a clay base dating from the Bajocian, covered by a shallow soil combining chalk, gravel and clay. Yields are deliberately limited to 30 hl/ha and the harvest is carried out by hand to ensure optimal quality of the berries.
Winemaking and aging
The process begins with traditional fermentation in open vats, followed by malolactic fermentation completed at 100%. The wine then benefits from meticulous aging lasting 10 to 12 months. This maturation takes place exclusively in new French oak barrels with medium toasting, crafted directly by the Maison Louis Latour cooperage.
Grape variety
This cuvée is made exclusively from 100% Pinot Noir.
