A Champagne from Champagne Combining Elegance and Minerality, the Signature of Maison Henriot
The Estate
Founded in 1808 by Apolline Henriot, Maison Henriot remains an independent, family-owned champagne house. Now owned by Terroirs et Vignerons de Champagne (TEVC) since 2023, it is led by Christophe Juarez, while Alice Tétienne, who joined in 2020, holds the position of cellar master. The house's style is characterized by elegance, purity, and a dominance of Chardonnay. The estate spans approximately 36 hectares of owned vineyards, complemented by partnerships with 76 winegrowers across 171 plots spread over 25 villages.
The Vineyard
The grapes for the Cuvée des Enchanteleurs come exclusively from the most prestigious terroirs of Champagne, classified as Grands Crus. The Chardonnay comes from the Côte des Blancs, notably from the villages of Mesnil-sur-Oger, Avize, and Chouilly, lending its characteristic minerality and freshness. The Pinot Noir comes from the Montagne de Reims, particularly Mailly and Verzy, giving the blend structure and depth.
The Vintage
The 2015 vintage in Champagne was marked by a mild winter followed by a sunny spring. The summer proved hot and dry, favoring optimal ripening of the grapes. These conditions allowed for excellent aromatic concentration while preserving balanced acidity.
Winemaking and Aging
The Cuvée des Enchanteleurs 2015 benefited from extended aging on the lees in the house's cellars, well beyond legal requirements. This extended process allows for the development of the aromatic complexity and silky texture characteristic of this exceptional cuvée.
