Food and wine pairing

It also goes very well with mushroom-based dishes, such as porcini risotto, pasta with meat sauce, as well as marinated vegetables. At the end of a meal, it beautifully complements matured cheeses such as brie or camembert.

This wine can be enjoyed while young but also has fine ageing potential, allowing it to be kept in the cellar until around 2036.

The elegance and freshness of a great Marsannay wine

The estate

Built in 1990 on the outskirts of Dijon in France, Château de Marsannay stands out as a key figure of the Côte de Nuits, in Burgundy. Now managed by its owner Olivier Halley, this exceptional estate oversees a 40-hectare vineyard cultivated entirely according to organic farming practices. Guided by a philosophy centred on agroecology and absolute respect for terroir, the estate is distinguished by its minimal-intervention winemaking. Château de Marsannay thus plays an active role in the qualitative renewal of its appellation, offering cuvées that faithfully and authentically express the richness of its climats.

The vineyard

The "Es Chezots" climat extends over two hectares within the Marsannay appellation. Located at the confluence of two combes, this mid-slope plot facing east-southeast benefits from a particularly well-ventilated microclimate. The vines thrive on well-drained soils composed of clay, silt and sand, resulting from the weathering of marl. This cool environment favours slow, optimal ripening of the grapes, giving the wine its distinctive minerality.

The vintage

2024 stood out for climatic conditions that favoured relatively early ripening of the berries, while preserving the characteristic freshness of this unique terroir.

Winemaking and ageing

The grapes for the Marsannay Village "Es Chezots" 2024 are harvested by hand, followed by a rigorous sorting process upon arrival at the cellar to retain only the best berries. True to its minimalist approach, the estate favours gentle vinification. Ageing takes place over a period of thirteen months in oak barrels, 20% of which are new and 80% one- to two-wine barrels, before concluding with a three-month refinement period in tank to perfect the overall harmony.
