Château Marjosse 2021

Chewy, grippy and mouthfilling, this is a plush and plump style with a bouncy palate and drive of quite rich and concentrated flavours – cassis, red cherry and pomegranate. Licks of salinity come in on the finish and this has a lot to like. It’s quite a bold, in-your-face style, and it’s carrying more weight on the mid-palate than others, which bodes well for future ageing. Sculpted and somewhat muscular but with tons of energy. I like it. A blend of 77% Merlot, 14% Cabernet Franc, 7% Cabernet Sauvignon and 2% Malbec completes the blend.

Plums, cherry stones and olives on the nose. Juicy and very approachable with a medium body, soft tannins and a fruity finish. Drink now.

Forward, soft, medium-bodied, charming, red cherry and currant-filled, refined, soft-textured wine that will be perfect for early-drinking pleasure. Drink from 2023-2032. 88-90

The delicate bouquet shows that concentration was not the aim here. The fine fruit reveals, alongside red currants, lovely floral notes of violet and iris. On the palate it is juicy with a soft texture; the extract is ripe yet supported by lively acidity and a healthy tannic framework. The focused finish brings red-berry contours, light graphite, and a finely sandy astringency. 17/20 2025 – 2034

A little subdued aromatically, it takes time to unwind in the glass and gets off to a good start. Textured crab apple and raspberry fruit, with gentle spice, but there is bitterness on the finish.

Very fine, elegant and juicy, with a refined fruitiness reminiscent of Ente plum. Silky and playful, the palate already tames the oak to showcase very delicate fruit and velvety tannins. A balanced, mouthwatering wine, made for pleasure and built to last.

Beautiful dark, vibrant color. Fruity nose, appealing for its smoothness. Caressing on the attack, melting at mid-palate, this very well-crafted wine caresses the palate, leaving a sensation of freshness, velvety texture, and plenty of flavor. Lovely lingering fragrance. A great outsider. Blend: 65% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Cabernet Franc, 5% Malbec. Alcohol: natural 12.5°. Yield: 35 hl/ha. Harvest from September 28 to October 12.
