Château Nénin 2007

This blend of 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc exhibits a dark ruby colour, seductive, upfront aromas of raspberry and blackberry fruit intermixed with hints of caramel and wood spice, and a soft, round, attractive style. It is ideal for drinking over the next 7–10 years.

Offers aromas of fresh flowers and berries. Medium-bodied, with fine tannins and a delicate finish. Refined, with a lovely, silky length. Best after 2012. 3,000 cases made.

Still some blue here and a very pale rim. Very light nose and generally a rather casual approach. Not much attempt to charm the taster. Dusty and lacking juice. Furry edge. (JR)

Bright ruby-red. Aromas of currant, black cherry, liquorice, bitter chocolate and fruitcake. Silky and seamless but quite dry, with dark-fruit flavours lifted by pepper and herbal nuances. Finishes with decent breadth and fairly fine-grained tannins.

Medium-bodied, with a melange of peppery notes, cherries and herbs on the palate; this is fully mature. The wine was made by blending 76% Merlot and 24% Cabernet Franc.

Deep dark violet. Intense cherry bouquet, notes of coffee. On the palate, full-bodied; supple attack, with a firm, peppery raciness at the core and a compact, focused body. Better with every vintage; 2007 was a real surprise.

A beautiful, linear, deep wine with superbly silky tannins, considerable length and a lovely fullness of structure.

Pale garnet red. Juicy, open attack. The wine is supple and elegant, with well-integrated tannins that provide support. A wine ready to be enjoyed.

Bright colour, good intensity. Fruity nose, fresh yet discreet. The palate is round and flavourful, with lovely fruit brightness, good body, and an overall creamy feel that is particularly appealing.

Structured and firm, with tannins and a touch of oak. There is sweetness here, with flavors of licorice, blackberry juice and a lively sweetness. The whole wine is dominated by delicious berry fruits.
