Palate
On the palate, this wine expresses a remarkable balance between richness and freshness. The texture is generous and concentrated, supported by a chalky minerality characteristic of limestone soils. Lively acidity brings structure and vibrancy, while buttery and woody notes integrate with finesse. The finish extends elegantly with aromas of citrus and minerals.

The structure and finesse of a Burgundy Premier Cru
The estate
Founded in 1945 in the village of Fuissé, in the heart of the Mâconnais in Burgundy, Domaine Cordier Père et Fils now spans approximately 32 hectares distributed across more than 120 plots throughout nine villages. Under the direction of Christophe Cordier, the third generation at the helm of the estate, the property has risen to become one of the region's benchmarks. Since 2024, the entire vineyard has benefited from double organic AB and biodynamic Demeter certification, testifying to a deep commitment to environmentally friendly viticulture. The estate distinguishes itself with its Chardonnay wines that rival the greatest crus of the Côte d'Or.
The vineyard
The Pouilly-Fuissé 1er cru "Au Vignerais" comes from plots located in the commune of Solutré-Pouilly, in the cadastral zones of Vignerais and Crays. The terroir consists of clay-limestone soils from the Jurassic period, with limestone beds interspersed with marl and a high limestone content in the deep layers. The vines benefit from a mainly south-east exposure and are planted on hillsides at a favorable altitude. The 30 to 40-year-old vines are managed using biodynamic agriculture, with practices including horse plowing and the application of biodynamic preparations.
The vintage
The 2020 vintage in Burgundy was marked by early budburst in spring, followed by a period of heat and drought during the summer which induced temporary water stress. Fortunately, episodes of cool nights during the harvest period allowed the grapes to reach optimal maturity while preserving beautiful acidity. This combination gave rise to concentrated white wines, endowed with fine minerality and a lively acidic structure, promising for aging.
Winemaking and aging
The Pouilly-Fuissé 1er cru "Au Vignerais" 2020 is vinified exclusively in 500-liter barrels, with 20 to 30% new wood. The estate uses air-conditioned gravity-fed cellars to work with precision and respect for the grape. Aging takes place on total lees in French oak barrels from high forests, with fine grain and a toast custom-made at the estate. Bottling is carried out by gravity, without fining and with minimal filtration in order to preserve the full character of the wine.
