The Estate
Based in Meursault, in the heart of Burgundy, Domaine Michel Bouzereau et Fils is the fruit of a family heritage spanning seven generations. Although the family has been growing vines for a long time, the current estate was officially founded in 1971 by Michel Bouzereau. His son Jean-Baptiste Bouzereau has been at the helm since 1999. Covering around 12.5 hectares, the estate stands out for its soil-friendly viticulture inspired by biodynamics, and produces wines renowned for their precision and faithful expression of terroir.
The Vineyard
The climat from which this cuvée comes lies in the south of the village of Beaune. The plot, which covers roughly half a hectare, sits on a south-facing slope at an average altitude of 240 metres. The vines, over 60 years old, thrive on well-drained clay-limestone soils. The vineyard is farmed using environmentally friendly methods, with no chemical herbicides, regular soil cultivation and biodynamically inspired practices that preserve the vitality of the vines.
Vinification and Ageing
The grapes are harvested by hand to preserve the integrity of the berries. The vinification of the Beaune 1er Cru "Les Vignes Franches" 2024 is traditional and minimally interventionist, with carefully controlled extraction in vats. The wine is then aged for one year in oak barrels, around 30% of which are new. Finally, a four-month rest in vats completes the blend before bottling.
Grape Variety
100% Pinot Noir.
