Intense and deliciously complex, the nose reveals aromas of fresh hazelnut, lime zest and bergamot. The bouquet expands with floral notes of jasmine and verbena, accompanied by touches of toasted sesame.
Palate
Broad and silky, the palate unfolds with complexity and freshness. Generous yet restrained, the medium-bodied structure offers a focused attack. The dense texture, without heaviness, allows well-integrated oak aromas to shine through. The finish, long and fresh, stands out for its delicious salinity and fine depth.

A Pouilly-Fuissé with Assertive Character and a Saline Finish from Domaine J.-A. Ferret
The Estate
Established in 1840 by Jean-Antoine Ferret in the village of Fuissé, Domaine J.-A. Ferret now spans 17 to 18 hectares in the heart of the Mâconnais in Burgundy. Acquired in 2008 by Maison Louis Jadot and led since 2023 by Clément Robinet, the estate embodies Pouilly-Fuissé excellence. Jeanne Ferret was a pioneer, bottling and marketing her wines herself as early as the 1950s and establishing parcel-by-parcel vinification. This artisanal approach lives on, expressing the richness of Fuissé’s terroirs, planted primarily to chardonnay.
The Vineyard
Clos des Prouges lies in the heart of the village of Fuissé, on a gentle east-facing slope. This clos of just over 2 hectares rests on highly calcareous Upper Bathonian marls. The vines, among the oldest on the estate, date mainly from 1956, meaning they are over 65 years old. A small, more recent parcel was planted in 2003. This exceptional terroir gives Pouilly-Fuissé its imposing structure and distinctive minerality.
The Vintage
The 2022 vintage proved warmer than normal. A dry winter and mild spring were followed by budbreak in early April. Two frost events had only a minor impact, simply slowing growth. Temperatures rose quickly in May, encouraging early flowering. A hail shower hit Vergisson in late June, causing less damage than the previous year in Fuissé. July and August were hot and dry. Harvest began on August 22 and took place over 10 days. This vintage offers spot-on ripeness, combining charm, balance and a better quantity than in 2021.
Winemaking and Aging
The Pouilly-Fuissé Village "Clos des Prouges" 2022 was aged for 10 months in barrels, including 25% new oak and 75% barrels that had held 1 to 3 wines. Aging then continued for 9 months in stainless-steel tanks on lees. Bottling took place in early 2024.
