Robert Parker

Robert M. Parker, Jr.

The second wine of Nenin, the 2010 Fugue de Nenin, is mostly Merlot with a touch of Cabernet Franc. It is soft, easygoing and slightly short on the palate, but round and generally appealing in a simplified fashion.

Wine Spectator

James Molesworth

Soft, friendly, forward and open-knit, with plum, grape and blackberry fruit. A gentle kiss of singed vanilla and a flash of graphite appear on the finish. Drink now through 2018. 6,666 cases made.

James Suckling

Plums and orange peel on the nose. Medium to full body, with velvety tannins and a clean finish. Nice note of nuts and chocolate at the end. Second wine of Nenin. Delicious now but better in 2015.

Bettane+Desseauve

With an elegant floral profile, this wine has great charm; the tannins are supple, caressing, and fresh. It can already be served.

Le Figaro Vin

Fairly fresh attack, a lovely, generous mid-palate, and good length.

This is soft, round and beautifully ripe with just a touch of perfume. A rich wine that is only lightly structured, juicy and forward.

Description

The richness and structure of a great red wine from Pomerol

Second wine of the very famous Chateau Nénin, Fugue de Nénin is made from vines located on sandy-clay soils as well as on the great terroirs of the Plateau de Nénin Pomerol, on the right bank of Bordeaux.

Greedy, silky, Fugue de Nénin embodies all the charm and typicity of the Pomerol appellation.

Fugue de Nénin 2010 is based on a blend of merlot (92%) and cabernet franc (8%).

The fruit of a very fine vintage for the Bordeaux region, Fugue de Nénin 2010 has a beautiful purple colour. Intensely aromatic, the bouquet delivers sweet, fruity notes of red and black berries, plum and chocolate as well as delicate floral notes. The palate is round and generous with silky tannins. Brilliant energy, the vintage keeps a beautiful persistence at the end of the mouth. A delicious Pomerol signed by Château Nénin to be enjoyed now.
