Paul Jaboulet-Aîné : Les Cassines 2022

Sourced from vines planted on south-facing granite soils, the 2022 Condrieu les Cassines reveals a smoky, reduced bouquet of herbs, spring blossoms and spices. Moderately weighted, enrobing and sappy, it's ripe with low acid and a slightly flabby finish. Matured in concrete egg-shaped containers and barrels for eight months, it has not undergone malolactic fermentation. It has a pH of 3.28.

A subtle, aromatic and precise Condrieu. It shows aromas of fresh apples, dried herbs and dried lemons on the nose, following through to a medium body with a precise core of vivid fruit. Lemons and herbs mingle nicely in a refreshing and caressing finish. 100% viognier. Drink or hold.
