In the iconic landscapes of Cuba, a country renowned for the excellence of its rums, the Eminente distillery carries on a centuries-old tradition in the art of crafting spirits.
What is the story of Maison Eminente?
Maison Eminente was born from the collaboration between the LVMH group and the Cuban company Cuba Ron, celebrating Cuba's rum heritage. Under the expertise of Maestro Ronero César Martí, it stands out for the high proportion of aguardientes in its blends and for having earned the rare D.O.P. Ron de Cuba protected designation of origin.
Everything you need to know about the distillery
Remarkable geology and climate
Strategically located, the distillery enjoys ideal exposure, receiving optimal sunshine for the ripening of sugar cane while being sheltered from bad weather by the surrounding hills. The region's mineral-rich soils, a legacy of ancient volcanic eruptions, provide a perfect foundation for growing top-quality sugar cane, essential to producing a fine rum. What's more, Cuba's tropical climate, with its regular rainfall and warm temperatures, is the ideal breeding ground for robust sugar cane, guaranteeing an exceptional raw material year after year.
A responsible approach
True to tradition, Eminente uses sustainable farming methods, favouring an environmentally friendly approach. Crop rotation, controlled irrigation and the absence of chemicals are among the practices adopted.
César Martí, Cuba's youngest Maestro Ronero
"I wanted to pass on the culture and tradition, and to celebrate the art of Cuban rum through Eminente," said César Martí.
César Martí trained under his grandparents, growing up amid vast fields of sugar cane. Drawing on this family heritage, he decided to devote his life to preserving, sharing and innovating Cuban expertise in order to craft rums of unrivalled quality. After completing his studies in physics and engineering, he became the country's youngest Maestro Ronero in just nine years, a feat that remains unmatched to this day. Once harvested, the sugar cane is swiftly transported to the distillery to guarantee its freshness. The fermentation of the rich molasses is carefully monitored so that, once distilled, it gives life to unique rums.
The distillery's rum style
An innovative Cuban rum
Eminente Reserva embodies a new category of rum, distinguished by a composition that includes 70% aged aguardientes, the highest proportion of any Cuban rum. Inspired by the Cuban rums of the 19th century, it is characterised by the richness and depth of its aromas. Our master distiller brings additional complexity to it by mastering the art of blending these aguardientes.
Velvety, subtle rums
Eminente is perfect for sipping, whether over ice or in a cocktail. It combines the elegance of a traditional light Cuban rum with the richness and depth of an aged rum. It reveals notes of exotic fruits, tobacco and vanilla. Its velvety texture and long finish set it apart from other Cuban rums.
A bottle that embodies Cuba
The island is home to around 3,000 unique species, among them the Cuban crocodile, hidden in the depths of the Zapata swamp, the country's largest wetland, in the south of Matanzas province. What creature could better embody the essence of Cuba than this wild, enigmatic and revered animal? Eminente celebrates this authentic side of Cuba right down to its bottle and emblem. The texture of the glass and the depiction of the island on the label indeed evoke the country's iconic animal.
Food and rum pairings: endless possibilities
Eminente rum pairs wonderfully with spicy dishes, mature cheeses and chocolate desserts.
Mixology: between refinement and boldness
Perfect for refined cocktails, Eminente lends itself beautifully to creations such as the Mojito, the Daiquiri or the Old Cuban, offering a bold and fragrant base for the most demanding mixologists.
