Description
A single-plot old-vine Carignan, the signature of Atelier Guibert in Languedoc
The estate
Atelier Guibert is the creative laboratory of the Guibert family, founded in 2020 in Aniane, in Languedoc, as an extension of Mas de Daumas Gassac. The project is led by the five Guibert brothers, heirs to the family estate, including Samuel, Gaël, Roman and Basile. The vineyard covers fourteen hectares between Aniane and Gignac, devoted to ancient Mediterranean grape varieties worked with a free, sincere and minimally interventionist approach.
The vineyard
This "Le Pesquier" 2024 comes from a single micro-plot of 63-year-old Carignan, planted in Aniane at an altitude of around 80 metres, in the IGP Saint-Guilhem-le-Désert. Surrounded by garrigue, the vines are rooted in poor clay-limestone soil that naturally limits vigour, encouraging slow ripening and a natural concentration in the grapes. The yield of this Languedoc plot is set at 39 hl/ha.
Vinification and ageing
This "Le Pesquier" Parcellaire de Carignan 2024 is vinified with indigenous yeasts and no additives, with a gentle extraction carried out through infusion and delicacy. The wine undergoes no fining, filtration or degassing, in order to preserve the natural expression of the fruit as much as possible. Ageing continues in barrels, bringing structure and depth to this old-vine Carignan.
Grape variety
"Le Pesquier" Parcellaire de Carignan 2024 by Atelier Guibert is 100% Carignan.
