Description
The freshness and precision of a Patagonian white wine
The estate
Bodega Chacra welcomes you to the heart of the Río Negro region, on the southern tip of Argentina. This hidden gem was brought to life in 2004 by Piero Incisa della Rocchetta. The adventure began at a tasting in New York, where he savored a wine that particularly caught his attention: a Pinot Noir from Río Negro. It was a revelation for our protagonist, who immediately perceived the full potential these terroirs had to offer: ungrafted vines from 1932, massal selections, ideal climatic conditions… Piero Incisa della Rocchetta set sail for this natural jewel to create his dream wines, nectars capable of conveying the taste of “a place on the planet,” as he says.
The vineyard
Bodega Chacra is rooted in the heart of the Río Negro region in Patagonia, a land born from the confluence of two rivers, Limay and Neuquén. It stretches as far as the eye can see into plains and forests, at an altitude ranging between 290 and 330 meters. There, in the heart of this green lung, the estate thrives, nestled in a natural setting comprising 24 hectares of vines. The estate is farmed organically and biodynamically.
The wine
From vineyards averaging 40 years of age and farmed organically and biodynamically, Chacra Chardonnay is the result of a collaboration between Bodega Chacra and Jean-Marc Roulot, the emblematic winemaker from Meursault.
Grape variety
Chacra 2024 from Bodega Chacra is 100% Chardonnay.
