Leclerc Briant : Brut Réserve

A blend of 40% Pinot Noir, 40% Pinot Meunier and 20% Chardonnay, the NV Réserve Brut from Champagne Leclerc Briant is showing well today, evoking a lively, fresh bouquet of pear, verbena, lime tree, herbs and menthol. Moderately weighted and tense, it's vinous and energetic with an incisive mid-palate and a mouthwatering, fresh finish. Based on the 2020 vintage with only 5% reserve wines, it was disgorged in October 2023 with 4.5 grams per liter dosage.

An easy-to-like style that blends ripe, slightly sweet fruit flavors with lively acidity and a fresh feel.

Disgorged in July 2019. Dosage 4 g/L. Base wine from the 2015 vintage (90%). A lively, energetic nose full of floral and herbal scents, including chamomile. A full, structured palate with a seductive, velvety texture that remains balanced. The floral finish is enticingly light-footed.

Pale straw yellow with silver reflections and a fine mousse. Yellow tropical fruit, a hint of peach, floral nuances and candied lime zest on the nose, with a mineral touch too. It's complex and tightly meshed on the palate with nuances of pome fruit, a fresh acidity and a saline touch on the finish that leads into subtle fruit sweetness in the aftertaste. Based largely on the 2020 vintage and pouring a bright straw hue, the NV Champagne Brut Reserve is fresh and lifted, with breezy, savory aromas of seashell and fresh pear. Floral and fruity on the palate, with medium body and a juicy feel, it has a clean, chalky texture and a mouthwatering, light almond finish with a hint of umami. Made from fully organic grapes, it has a dosage of 4.5 grams per liter and was disgorged in March 2024.

Savory intensity, with vibrant tension and a flavorful creaminess.

A very fine introduction with this non-vintage brut, largely Pinot-driven, both taut and vinous, with beautiful breadth, already persistent and delicately chalky. A digestible, refined, and highly sapid wine.

Blending the three Champagne grapes, this wine is well textured. It is warm, the tang of minerality softened by ripe white-fruit flavors. It is ready to drink.
