    Vinum

Stewed raspberries over vanilla ice cream, floral notes; on the palate, fruity, balanced, with non-overbearing tannins, racy acidity, and a short finish. Cohesive overall and well made.

    Decanter

Ripe and expressive aromatic expression. Crisp yet creamy, the acidity nicely balances the density of the pure fruit, but the tannins and somewhat stalky elements come through quite strongly, leaving a softly drying feel. It seems to be missing a little density and soft charm at this point.

    Vertdevin

The nose is pleasantly fruity, elegant, spicy, aromatic and offers a certain complexity. It reveals notes of Boysenberry, garrigue strawberry and, more subtly, spices, combined with touches of wild blackcurrant, as well as hints of violet, nutmeg, clove, a sense of place, a discreet floral note and an imperceptible almost citrus-zest note. The palate is pleasantly mineral, fresh, juicy, and offers purity in the definition of the fruit and precision. On the palate, this wine shows notes of juicy/pulpy blackcurrant, cherry and, more subtly, vibrant blackberry, combined with a touch of cranberry, violet/lilac, as well as hints of nutmeg, a sense of place/local copse, a discreet mineral note and sweet nutmeg. Good length.

    Description

The liveliness and richness of a wine from Fronsac

    The estate
Located on the Right Bank of Bordeaux, Château Carlmagnus is at the heart of the Fronsac appellation. This estate produces wines that faithfully reflect the character of this little-known terroir.

    The vineyard
This Fronsac vineyard extends over 15 hectares on a large limestone plateau. The clay-limestone soils provide the vines with an ideal environment to produce structured and aromatic wines.

    Winemaking and aging
After meticulous berry sorting, the grapes are vinified as whole berries in wooden vats to preserve the full purity of the fruit. Extraction is carried out gently. Aging lasts 12 to 14 months in barrels, 10% of which are new.

    The blend
The blend of this Château Carlmagnus 2024 consists of 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc.
