    Vinum

Slightly smoky on the nose with radiant cassis fruit and floral notes; creamy attack, then more linear, well-structured, fine-grained tannins, an impressively crisp fruit core, long finish on cassis and blackberry. It will bring pleasure at every stage of its life.

    Decanter

Liquorice, tobacco and dark chocolate scents on the nose with blackcurrant too. Chewy, softly fruity and floral on the palate. This has a nice subtle bounce and soft fleshiness. Fruit has a touch of vibrancy but the coolness is enjoyable and it ends clean and focussed. Feels well presented with plenty of juicy acidity and aspects of fun - a rarity in this vintage. I suspect after ageing this will be more harmonised in terms of tannins and will be very enjoyable. Lovely. Nice salty minerality too.

Cask sample. Brambly fruit aromas. Quite plush on the attack. Mid-palate presence, then firm and dry on the finish. Oak is a touch present but overall a harmonious whole. (JL)

Black raspberries, flowers, smoke, lead pencil, and cherries open the wine's aromatics. On the palate, the wine is vibrant, soft, chewy, and crisp, with a racy character to the red fruits, complemented by a minty edge in the finish. The wine blends 47% Cabernet Sauvignon, 45% Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot, and 3% Cabernet Franc. 13% ABV. Drink from 2027-2040. 90-92 points

    Le Figaro Vin

On the nose, crisp red plum mingles with aromatic herbs, with a hint of black pepper. Peppery notes return on the palate—this time leaning white—yielding a dynamic wine with delicate texture. Silky tannins bring structure and elegance to the finish.

    Vertdevin

The nose is fruity, offering a certain fleshy indulgence and a juicy side to the fruit. It reveals notes of fleshy blackcurrant, fleshy/juicy strawberry and, more delicately, juicy/fresh blue plum, with fine hints of violet and touches of nutmeg. The palate is fruity, juicy, fresh and mineral. It shows a fresh framework, some acidity, juiciness, a touch of indulgence and pulpiness. On the palate, this wine expresses notes of fleshy/juicy blackcurrant, fleshy/juicy purple plum and, more subtly, crushed raspberry, combined with hints of bright strawberry, as well as fine touches of racy minerality, toast, nutmeg and cocoa nibs. A floral hint in the background. Good length. A wine offering indulgence, softness and persistence.

    Description

The structure and refinement of a great Margaux wine

    The estate

Founded in 1332, Château Labégorce has been under the direction of the Perrodo Family since 1989.

    The vineyard

The Château Labégorce vineyard benefits from an exceptional terroir of 62.50 hectares within the Margaux appellation, composed primarily of gravel and stones, with silty and sandy-silty areas. This composition promotes optimal drainage and perfect thermal regulation for the vines, which are on average 30 years old. The estate practices sustainable viticulture, respectful of the environment, allowing the typicity of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot to be fully expressed.

    Vinification and aging

Plot-by-plot vinification in concrete vats. Aged for 12 months in French oak barrels, 30% of which are new oak.
