Château Larrivaux 2024
Marks and reviews
Description
A rich and highly elegant Haut-Médoc wine
The estate
Founded in 1580, the Château Larrivaux is a Médoc wine estate in Bordeaux, remarkable for its uninterrupted female leadership since its inception. This estate, with its atypical clay, limestone and sandy terroir, is now managed by Bérangère Tesseron. The property, still owned by the same family, prioritizes vineyard work to achieve optimal grape maturity, thus limiting cellar interventions to preserve the authenticity of its wines.
The vineyard
Located in the Haut-Médoc, the vineyard of Château Larrivaux stands out for its clay-sand topsoil and clay-limestone subsoil. This diversity imparts the characteristic minerality and freshness to the wine. Overseeing a 15.5-hectare vineyard, the estate benefits from exceptional biodiversity thanks to its proximity to the forest, fostering a rich and balanced ecosystem.
Winemaking and aging
Alcoholic fermentation in concrete and stainless steel vats. Aging was then carried out half in barrels and half in vats, offering a perfect balance between tannic structure and fruit freshness.
Blend
This Château Larrivaux 2024 is the result of a harmonious Blend of 35% merlot, 31% cabernet franc, 27% cabernet sauvignon and 7% petit verdot.
