    Vinum

Dense color; on the nose, cassis, elderberry and blueberries, cool smoke; polished on the palate, medium body, perfectly ripe fruit, carried by powdery tannins, aromatic with good length, finishing on cassis fruit and a hint of blood orange.

    Decanter

This is charming in a gentle way - touches of minerality join bright, mouthwatering acidity with crystalline, almost sharp fruit and firm, grippy tannins. Everything is in balance and presented in a neat and compact fashion with lots of character. It’s not a big wine, but it’s got style. A nice, easy-drinking example. 3.65ph. A yield of 35gl/ha.

Cask sample. Brambly fruit on the nose. Firm and fresh on the palate. Adequate fruit and integrated tannins. Just a little tight and chewy on the finish at the moment. Élevage should help. (JL)

Black cherries, peppery herbs, flowers, and black raspberries blend to create the nose. The wine is piquant, edgy, and bright, with a crispness to its character giving you a big, crunchy bite of red currants and peppery spice in the finish. The wine blends 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot and 5% Cabernet Franc. 13% ABV. 3.5 pH. The harvest took place from September 16 - October 6. Yields were only 32 hectoliters per hectare. Drink from 2028-2045. 90-92 Pts

    Le Figaro Vin

Red and black fruits, seasoned with sweet spices and black pepper, compose a refined, fresh nose. On the palate, redcurrant and morello cherry bring their tangy notes to a taut, imposing structure that needs time to relax. The finish is silky and clings with tenacity.

    Description

A Grand Cru from Margaux combining power and elegance

    The Estate

Founded in 1585 by François d'Alesme, the Château Marquis d'Alesme became a wine estate in 1616. Classified as a Third Growth in 1855, it was acquired by the Perrodo family in 2006. The estate is distinguished by its ancient heritage and the Dutch influence of Jan Bekker Teerlink, who Germanized his name to Becker. Its location in the Médoc makes it a key player in the Bordeaux region.

    The Vineyard

Covering 14 hectares in the Margaux appellation, the vineyard of Château Marquis d'Alesme benefits from an exceptional terroir composed of clayey and siliceous gravel soils. This diversity of soils contributes to the aromatic complexity of the wines. Since 2016, the estate has practiced organic viticulture, demonstrating a strong commitment to environmental preservation and the authentic expression of its terroir. The plantings consist of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot.

    Winemaking and Ageing

Hand-harvested grapes followed by vinification in conical wooden vats and stainless steel tanks. The ageing lasts 14 months in oak barrels, 55% of which are new.
