The estate
The Domaine Henri Bourgeois is now managed by Arnaud, Lionel and Jean-Christophe Bourgeois, representing the third generation since the estate was founded by Henri Bourgeois in 1950. The vineyard, covering 72 hectares, spans a mosaic of terroirs: clay-limestone soils, Kimmeridgian marls and flint, giving each wine its unique personality. Thanks to their passion and rigor, notably in vineyard management and parcel-by-parcel vinification (of which the Bourgeois family was a pioneer), the estate's wines are recognized for their finesse, quality and the purity of their terroir expression.
The vineyard
The vines for this cuvée are located on the prestigious Côte des Monts Damnés, characterized by south-facing Kimmeridgian marls. This soil, typical of the Loire, contains many small fossilized oyster shells. Yields are deliberately controlled thanks to high planting density and grassing between the rows.
Winemaking and aging
Only the finest bunches, handpicked, are selected and gently brought to the cellar for a soft pressing, thus preserving the aromatic richness of the grape. The fermentation of this Sancerre white wine takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats, before aging on fine lees for 9 to 10 months. Bottling takes place at the estate.
Grape variety
Sauvignon Blanc (100%).
