A prestigious climat of Burgundy, Clos de Vougeot has enjoyed its reputation for centuries. It was between the 10th and 12th centuries that the Cistercian monks of Citeaux Abbey assembled the famous “Clos ” from more than 80 different plots.

Clos de Vougeot went on to join the list of the 4 Grands Crus of Burgundy drawn up by Doctor Jules Lavalle in 1855, alongside Chambertin, Clos de Bèze and Romanée Conti.

The Rebourseau family thus owns the “golden square of Clos de Vougeot ”. This 2.21-hectare plot enjoys an exceptional location in the upper part of the slope, on the “crest of Clos de Vougeot”, which is characterised by shallow soils with gravel, limestone scree and clay. On average, temperatures here are 0.5° higher than at the foot of the slope.

On tasting, the Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru 2016 from Domaine Henri Rebourseau offers a superb expression of Pinot Noir. This Burgundy Grand Cru displays a velvety appearance. The complex aromatic bouquet reveals the full minerality of the Clos de Vougeot terroir. The nose moves between notes of undergrowth, moss and truffle.
