A generous Loire white wine with great precision
The estate
Founded in 1850, Domaine Laporte has seen two great passionate Sancerre families succeed one another on its land, the Laporte family and the Bourgeois family, who brought it renown. In 1986, the Famille Bourgeois acquired the estate and has since helped to elevate each vintage with ancestral know-how. On the estate’s land, the grapes receive meticulous care. Certified organic since the 2013 vintage, Domaine Laporte practices parcel-based vinification, offering a wide range of Loire wines recognized on the finest tables in France and abroad for their outstanding quality.
The vineyard
Rochoy is a Sancerre wine crafted from a hillside vineyard whose singularity lies in the significant presence of flint in the soils.
Winemaking and aging
Following manual harvesting, the grapes undergo a slow pressing. Natural settling precedes fermentation with indigenous yeasts for around 15 days, thus preserving the aromatic purity and minerality of the berries. Only the finest juices are retained in the making of this wine. This Sancerre white wine benefits from regular bâtonnage until bottling, thereby imparting volume and breadth.
Grape variety
Sauvignon Blanc (100%).
