    Decanter

Sweet and creamy rose-petal scents on the nose, floral and nicely perfumed with plenty of red cherry. Succulent and streamlined, with a delicate core of juicy strawberry fruit and a creamy undertone. Finishes saline with bite and some toasted nuts as well as tobacco and liquorice. Tannins are a touch chewy, bringing density and flesh to the palate, with a direct line of acidity that keeps things lifted and focused. Unfussy, pure and easy to drink. pH 3.67. 4.9% press.

Tobacco, mint, cassis, and cranberry pop in the nose. On the palate, the wine is bright, crisp, and chewy, with a piquant edge to the fruits on the finish. The wine blends 56.3% Cabernet Sauvignon, 29.2% Merlot, and 14.5% Cabernet Franc, 12.9% ABV. 3.67 pH. Drink from 2027-2038. 90-92 pts

    Vertdevin

Lovely fruity, gourmand nose with a certain airy creaminess, elegance, a touch of graphene and an ethereal character. It reveals notes of Boysenberry, concentrated blackcurrant and, more lightly, crushed Gariguette strawberry, combined with hints of licorice, saline gravel accents, fine hints of cornflower and chocolate. The palate is nicely guided, sapid, iodine-tinged, offering indulgence, fine definition, a tangy backbone, accuracy, a slight tension, suppleness and minerality. On the palate this wine expresses notes of creamy raspberry, graphene and, more lightly, juicy/fresh blackcurrant, combined with touches of fresh lilac and nutmeg, as well as fine hints of cardamom and cocoa. Good length and fine definition. A subtle sappy and toasted note in the background.

A lively and well-structured Second Red Wine from Pessac-Léognan

    The estate
Immediately neighboring the prestigious Château Haut-Brion, Château La Mission Haut-Brion has stood as an emblematic figure of the Bordeaux vineyard for several centuries. Founded in the 16th century by the de Lestonnac family, the estate was later entrusted to the congregation of Lazarist priests. Today integrated into Domaine Clarence Dillon under the impetus of Prince Robert of Luxembourg, it remains one of the essential references among Bordeaux’s grand crus.

    The vineyard
The vines of Château La Mission Haut-Brion extend over the communes of Talence and Pessac, on deep gravel soils resting on a subsoil composed of clay, sand, limestone and faluns, a shelly limestone rock. This exceptional terroir enables the production of Pessac-Léognan wines of great complexity and remarkable aging potential.

    The wine

Produced in very small quantities, La Chapelle de La Mission Haut-Brion is the estate's Second Wine. This precious cuvée offers an excellent entry point into the refined universe of Château La Mission Haut-Brion. Its name pays tribute to the Lazarist priests of La Mission, who were already cultivating vines on these lands as early as the 18th century.

    The vintage
The year 2024 was marked by a cool and humid climate, leading to early budbreak followed by slowed vine growth. Disease pressure was significant, requiring constant vigilance in the vineyards. Despite a late and uneven flowering, July allowed good vegetative development thanks to milder conditions. Harvesting began in early September in excellent sanitary condition, with expressive white grapes and concentrated reds. The precise work of the teams allowed the selection of high-quality berries, heralding a promising vintage.

    Vinification and aging
Aging is conducted in barrels, 31% of which are new.

    Blend
Cabernet Sauvignon (56.3%), Merlot (29.2%) and Cabernet Franc (14.5%).
