Wine Spectator

Bruce Sanderson

A pretty red, almost as floral as it is fruity, displaying black cherry and black currant, violet and mineral flavors matched to a silky texture. Offers intensity, harmony and excellent length. Best from 2024 through 2038. 100 cases made, 10 cases imported.

Bettane+Desseauve

A great wine is in the making, with a black color that is very rare in Chambolle but characteristic of the vintage, all floral on the nose, with a taffeta-like texture, ideal grape maturity, and a high alcohol level without heaviness. Long, seamless finish on the palate. Wait twelve to fifteen years.

Wine Enthusiast

A.C.C.

The nose of this wine already hints at its graceful balance of fruit and spice. Sophisticated intensity of deep, crushed cherry, cranberry and pomegranate are presented on a linear palate, with a deep core of perfectly ripe red berries and a touch of salinity that resounds its precision and ripeness.

A Fruity and Elegant Red Wine from Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru

The Estate

The largest wine estate in Burgundy, Domaine Louis Latour boasts a winemaking history of over 200 years. Spread across the finest parcels in Premiers and Grands Crus from the Côte de Beaune to the Côte de Nuits, the estate's 50-hectare vineyard produces a range of wines from 130 appellations, each authentically and elegantly expressing the characteristics of their original terroir.

A renowned Burgundy estate, Louis Latour has been actively committed to environmentally conscious viticulture since 1996.

The Vineyard

This Premier Cru is a Chambolle-Musigny wine from a poor limestone soil parcel called "Les Charmes," which designates a plateau with little vegetation as it was long an uncultivated field.

Vinification and Aging

Traditional fermentation in open vats. Aging for 10 to 12 months in oak barrels from the estate's cooperage (40% new).

Grape Variety

Pinot Noir (100%).
