En Primeur Wines – delivery in early 2026
Description
The elegance and balance of a Red wine from Gevrey-Chambertin
The Estate
Domaine Louis Latour, the flagship of Burgundian winemaking, cultivates a tradition dating back more than two centuries. Its 50 hectares span the prestigious terroirs of the Côte de Beaune and Nuits, producing wines from 130 appellations, each reflecting its origin with authenticity.
The Vineyard
Located near Dijon, Gevrey-Chambertin (formerly Gevrey-en-Montagne) offers a 30-year-old vineyard planted on shallow brown-red clay-limestone soils.
The Vintage
The 2023 growing season began with a mild winter and a sunny spring, enabling rapid vine development despite some concerns related to humidity and mildew. The summer was mixed, with above-average temperatures and significant rainfall, requiring constant vigilance. A heatwave in late August and early September ultimately saved the harvest, allowing the grapes to reach perfect ripeness.
Vinification and aging
Once the hand-harvested grapes are in, fermentation is carried out traditionally in open vats with a 100% malolactic fermentation. The wine is aged for 10 to 12 months in French oak barrels (including 20% new barrels) from the Louis Latour coopery.
Blend
This 2023 Gevrey-Chambertin Village from Louis Latour is 100% Pinot Noir.
