Parker Estate : First Growth Cabernet Sauvignon 2019

The 2019 First Growth Cabernet Sauvignon is leafy, minty and earthy; it speaks of gravel and iodine, black pudding and dried herbs, layers of dark chocolate, raw cocoa and cassis. It is rustic and quite light in the mouth but also intense. The pleasing claret-like aesthetic indicates a future of length and grace. It feels as if it could only come from Coonawarra. 14.5% alcohol, sealed under screw cap.

Deeply colored, the bold and dense 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon First Growth opens with punchy redcurrant, blackcurrant, baked earth and dried herb aromas with excellent fruit volume. A tight and compact palate follows. The fruit is expressive and generous. The tannins are firm and well-formed in support, both coming together to deliver a long, composed and drying finish. It’s a classic Cabernet Sauvignon built for the long haul.
