Vertdevin
The nose is fruity, straightforward, and offers a certain power and control. The wine benefits from decanting. A lovely grain, fine creaminess, and a flinty, gunstone-like backdrop. There are notes of crunchy peach, juicy/pulpy small white fruits, and, more subtly, crushed quenette, combined with a touch of pear and pear blossom. The palate is beautifully guided, supple, fresh, dynamic, crystalline, and gourmand, offering lively energy, a pleasant light oiliness, roundness, body, a tangy backbone, and beautiful fruit purity. Supple, precise, with lovely delicacy in its texture and its richness. An enveloping feel. On the palate, this wine shows notes of juicy/bright white peach, juicy/bright pear, and, more slightly, crushed quenette, paired with an almost pink-grapefruit touch and fine hints of mandarin. Very long finish. Acidity, precision, smoothness, and a lovely iodized/saline character on the finish. A very discreet, almost acacia-like hint in the background.
