An Exceptional Vintage Fins Bois Cognac by Bache-Gabrielsen
The Bache-Gabrielsen House: A Franco-Norwegian Identity
Founded in 1905 by the Norwegian Thomas Bache-Gabrielsen, the Bache-Gabrielsen house is a distinctive trading company located in the heart of the town of Cognac. With no vineyard of its own, it relies on a solid network of partner winegrowers to craft its eaux-de-vie. Today, the estate is wholly owned by the founding family and led by Hervé Bache-Gabrielsen, representing the fourth generation, while his father Christian holds the position of chairman. The house stands out for its ability to blend Charentais tradition with an innovative approach and great transparency regarding the age of its cuvées. Backed by very old historic stocks, it offers spirits of great authenticity, prized by discerning enthusiasts.
The 2001 Vintage: The Pure Expression of Fins Bois Terroir
The Years in Cask 21 Years Old Fins Bois 2001 is a very limited edition that perfectly illustrates the house's expertise. Crafted from the Ugni Blanc grape variety grown in the Fins Bois cru, this Cognac benefited from the ideal climatic conditions of 2001: a cold, rainy winter followed by a hot summer with cool nights, ensuring optimal ripening and a fine acidity in the grapes.
After distillation, this cuvée underwent an extended ageing period of 21 years in French Limousin oak barrels. This long rest allowed it to develop a well-balanced structure and remarkable aromatic complexity. Bottled in 2023, this exceptional spirit is a true collector's item.
Presented in an elegant "Tradition" gift box with a white sleeve, this vintage highlights the brand's philosophy, centred on showcasing the passage of time and the pure expression of a specific year.
