Characteristics and Tasting Notes of Casamigos Añejo

Tasting

Nose
The nose is enticing with its smoothness and notes of caramel and vanilla.

Palate
Ideally balanced, the palate reveals harmony between the sweetness of agave, gentle spices, and the influence of oak. Notes of dark chocolate enrich the tasting experience, followed by a long finish with nuances of caramel, oak, and agave.

Pairings and Tasting Moments

This añejo tequila is best enjoyed at room temperature or slightly chilled, in a tasting glass such as a tumbler. It pairs beautifully with desserts made with dark chocolate or caramel. For a more authentic experience, savor it neat at the end of a meal, as a digestif.

An exceptional Mexican añejo tequila, the perfect balance of smoothness and character

Casamigos, an iconic tequila

Founded in 2013 by actor George Clooney, businessman Rande Gerber, and real estate developer Mike Meldman, Casamigos has become an iconic brand of Mexico, originating from the Jalisco region. Born from a shared passion for outstanding tequila, it was initially intended for their personal consumption before achieving rapid commercial success. In 2017, Diageo acquired the brand, cementing its iconic status. Crafted exclusively from blue Weber agave grown in the highlands of Jalisco, Casamigos stands out for its artisanal and meticulous production process, offering exceptional smoothness that allows it to be enjoyed neat, without accompaniment.

An exceptional añejo, the result of artisanal expertise

The Tequila Añejo Casamigos embodies the excellence of Mexican craftsmanship. Made from 100% blue Weber agave, carefully selected and harvested at optimal maturity (after 7 to 9 years of growth), this tequila benefits from a meticulous production process that sets it apart from industrial productions. The agave piñas are slowly cooked for 72 hours in traditional brick ovens, compared to just 7 hours for standard industrial methods.

Fermentation lasts for 80 hours, nearly double the usual industry time, using an exclusive yeast developed specifically for Casamigos. This exceptional patience allows for the full aromatic richness of the agave to be extracted.

Aging for 14 months in carefully selected American oak barrels imparts this añejo with its characteristic complexity and balanced profile. Every stage of production is overseen by the master distiller to ensure consistent and impeccable quality, true to the founders’ vision of creating a tequila of rare quality.
