Détente ECS Mark XIV presents a medium amber with red highlights, a hue that comes solely from its long tropical maturation and from part of the blend having aged in ex-port casks. The nose reveals great aromatic richness, led by notes of red fruit and tropical fruit, along with gentle spices and hints of fine wood. Détente Exceptional Cask Selection Mark XIV is a single blended rum born from the blending of two Foursquare distillates, each combining pot still and column, and both aged for ten years in Barbados. The first matured entirely in ex-bourbon casks, while the second spent four years in ex-bourbon followed by six years in ex-port, thus offering two distinct aromatic paths before their final union. Made from molasses fermented and distilled on site, this rum follows the Barbadian tradition and Foursquare's philosophy, which excludes any added sugar, artificial colouring and chill filtration, in order to preserve the integrity of the distillate.
