A coastal single malt from the Scottish Highlands with a distinctive maritime character

Glenglassaugh, a resilient Scottish distillery facing the sea
Founded in 1875 in Portsoy in the Scottish Highlands, Glenglassaugh embodies the resilience of Scottish whisky, having spent more time closed than in operation. After a prolonged closure in 1986, the distillery was reborn in 2008 under the impetus of the Scaent Group, then joined The BenRiach Distillery Company in 2013, before being acquired by Brown-Forman in 2016, its current owner. Located facing Sandend Bay, this coastal distillery produces annually thanks to its stills. Its distinctive feature lies in its distinctive maritime character and innovative approach, notably the pioneering sale of immature casks to individuals, ensuring remarkably rapid profitability after its resurrection.

Glenglassaugh 12 Year Old, the first age statement since the 1980s
Glenglassaugh 12 Year Old represents the distillery's first age statement whisky since the 1980s, thus marking the House's revival. Matured for over a decade facing the sea, it benefits from the influence of the unique maritime climate of northeast Scotland. Its aging in bourbon, Sherry and Spanish red wine casks delivers lush waves of ripe fruit and tropical aromas. This expression also introduces a new bottle design reminiscent of the waves and rippled sand of Sandend beaches that border the distillery. This unpeated coastal single malt perfectly illustrates Glenglassaugh's maritime identity, offering a fruity and bright profile enhanced by characteristic saline notes.
